Taper's Comments:
The "Lone Star Cafe" and "The Bottom Line" were my two fave venues in New York City,
and about the only two where I could see a show early enough to be able to make the
last train home to New Jersey. The "Lone Star" was in an old row home. Very narrow
and deep. The stage was more in the front of the place, across from the bar against
the wall, and in a lot of the club, the sightlines were poor. I always booked a seat early
in the balcony, looking straight down on the stage. The "Lone Star" had a real relaxed
atmosphere, and the staff were nice folks, at least to me.

The was the first time I saw ZERO, which was least favorite of the three different bands
I saw that had John Cipollina in them. Still, they were certainly more than just decent.
I thought the vocal levels could have been better, but that would be my only complaint
about the sound. Unfortunately, I was only to see John one more time after this on
their return trip to the "Lone Star" in late February 1987. He was a real nice guy, and
could talk your arm off! If anybody can help with the set list, please post that in the
comments section. Enjoy!
