Matrix Notes: Matrix achieved by mixing the sources in Audacity. The sources were mixed ~50/50 overall with the CA-11s source mixed a little higher in the left channel and the SBD mixed a little higher in the right channel. This seemed natural because the left mic of the CA-11s was pointed directly at the stack while the right mic was pointed out over to the room(facing the stack the band is to the right). The first 12:27 of the recording is the CA-11s only then the SBD kicks in. The SBD source was sped up by .002757% from 12:27-1:54:03; The CA-11s source was sped up by .006506% from 1:54:36-2:03:31 and sped up by .002239% from 2:04:44-2:28:05. At those points there are brief dropouts of either source but it does not affect the music.
Notes: ** - Jam includes a percussion segment with a full glass of beer being held at the drum kit as well as an audience member with a shaker, both of which can be heard on the recordings. The mics were set up ORTF, but since the club has a mono system this is different than many recordings. The stage is in a corner of the room with the bar on one side and the stacks on the other. The stand was set up next to a pillar 6' back from the two speakers, with the left mic pointing directly at the stacks and the right mic pointing to the far side of the stage. Therefore, the channels are amplified separately. Please visit www.yarnmusic.net for more on the band.
