Notes:
This date (and recording) often mistakenly circulates as being from an outdoor show at Clark Field at the University of Texas in Austin, which did happen, but was on September 12, 1970. The Austin Municipal Auditorium is the correct venue. Despite its flaws and lack of complete lineage, this is well worth a listen.
I *think* I received this DAT from Neal Sturtevant during one of my many San Diego visits round the turn of the century. Neal was always a great host and a fun diversion when I had any time off out there. I just stumbled on it in a box of DATs that I recorded in San Diego back then. A photo of the case included. I think thats Neal's handwriting. I don't know the pre-DAT lineage or who did the sonic solution processing, but it seems to have worked relatively well on this - leaving no annoying artifacts.
One of the last recordings of Duane Allman, who died one month later on October 29, 1971.
