04/27/2005 | MC | I have this on tape. I am SO psyched to find it on here. Not only was it a great show, but to have tunes like "The Magician's Theater", which to the best of my knowledge, wasn't played again, are SWEET. |
04/28/2005 | Mark Goldey | I will eventually get around to re-issuing this from the cassette master with the correct lineage and with the tape noise removed, etc. |

"The Magician's Theatre" was a great little "basement" dive club in Tulsa. It couldn't have seated more than 50 people. I saw Pat there a couple of times around '78 or '79. He and Lyle were awesome !! I've been a fan ever since. |
01/26/2006 | Jay | thanks. got it. This tour was the first time I saw PM. I remember it as rock and roll Pat. During the show, a number of folks (including moi)assembled directly in front of the band. At first, they seemd a bit taken aback with our enthusiam but quickly got into it and really pumped up the music-in a good way. A memorable evening. |

I was the owner/general manager for the Magician's Theatre, in Tulsa. It actually seated around 200 -and on ocassions had as many as 500 bodies packed in at one time... we always had a great time when the PMG came to town. I am now living in the south of France, with a tiny rural dial up connection. This limits my ability to participate in file sharing and downloading. Sadly, I have never heard the Metheny group's musical tribute to that funky little amazing joint. For nearly a decade some of the finest musicians in the world dropped in and created their art there... out of love of the room, its acoustics and the appreciation of the audiences. It certainly wasn't for the money. Should someone take pity, I would gladly pay any and all costs and shipping for a copy of this tune (or entire concert) burned to CD.
