Notes:
Well the Irving Plaza show is finally ready,
I just uploaded it to Catapult and it's in FLAC format.
Why Flac you may ask? Well, why not?
Just wanted to explain a few things regarding the show and the sound on it.
I'll start by saying I don't really like the sound I got on it
and that's maybe why I was reluctant to release it and I just delayed it
and took my time (well that and the fact that a lazy mood fell on me),
oh and the fact that a few people sort of took the fun out of doing this
for very strange reasons.
So just in case you are asking yourself why the sound is kinda distant,
or why it sounds like it does, or who is the screaming girl you hear throughout the show,
here 's are the explanations:
1. For once I decided to enjoy the show and I went and got in the first row
right in front for the stage,
I could have gone to my usual spot I tape from in the Irving Plaza
(which gets amazing sound and I've gotten some really good shows taped there)
having done that I kind of "sacrificed" the sound, and I decided to stand with a friend or two,
so you'll be hearing a lot of loud screaming from a certain someone,
but every now and then you just fell like you don't really want to tape
and you want to enjoy the show, I think you'll forgive me for that this time around.
And I figured at least half a dozen other people were taping
and someone was bound to get the FM source too.
2. Having gone to the first row the main PA's were aligned with me or slightly behind me,
I was getting feed mostly from the stage and it wasn?t too good.
And if you tape with DSM's and you stand too close to the source
you always get questionable sound.
3. The crowd noise in there that night was really crazy and back then me being new to the DSM's
the recording levels were slightly high so at the end of every song
the crowd noise might clip or just be too high.
I really didn't have the time to work on it and fix all that stuff, just too much work,
so if someone wants to fix this show up some more be my guest.
4. The main reason for the sound was that I taped out of my collar,
being first row I felt uncomfortable from the band for some reason
to just have the mics on my glasses, just felt funny and not right,
so that added to it all, collar was low and not pointing up, mics were not exposed completely.
Having said all that, I hope you enjoy the show, more to come in October..
