A smokin' show from about a year after the band's breakout album, West Coast Boogaloo. The only hint about the location is at the very end, where Karl Denson says "we could play longer but we've got a curfew."
David Gans collected and made his own PCMs but the details of some recordings have been lost, and this is one of them. No idea where the show was or the precise lineage, but it's pretty clearly right off the soundboard.
There are a couple of small dropouts in the first few seconds of the recordin. There was a small digisnit at about 4:30 into Steamed Water. Betcha can't find it.
Karl Denson - sax
Steve Haney - percussion
Zak Najor - drums
Melvin Sparks - guitar
Chris Stillwell - bass
Robert Walter - keyboards
Enjoy!
