the story:
The Greek Theatre experience from the back of the pit is on full display in this Mike and Kenny Davis recording. You can hear the tapers talking between songs. From the dialogue, we can tell Tom & Lynn, Mike, Kenny, John Hance were all there. you can hear people wander through their phalanx and how Mike hands one guy, Dennis, who speaks directly into the microphone, off to JJ who then moves him even further from the mics. Of course, due to the acoustics of being so close to the stage, the recording is uneven in that the vocals are a bit subdued. That aside it is worth a listen to the band playing the 5 PM show on a weekend when they hosted so many of their extended family as well as got to sleep in their own beds.

This entry consists of only set 1, set 2 cannot be located. Musical highlights include a nice slow "Friend of the Devil", "Desolation Row", and "China Cat Sunflower > I Know You Rider" has some sizzle to it, although it is a short version typical of summer 1986.
