07/21/2003 | Kevin | Not the best source IMHO. There is very little bass in the mix, and at times it seems to have that "swish" effect. Good to listen to to get a sense of the show, but hopefully better sources will appear...... | |

Personally, I find this seed's low-end bass to be unpleasantly boomy, lacking tightness and definition. Too much bass drum, and not enough clarity in Gordo's lines. Mid to upper range bass notes are indeed lacking. For instance, when Gordo is slapping away, you get boomy low notes and the high frequencies of the snaps, but not much in between. As Kevin metions, the seed is good enough to get a sense of the show -- if you dig the music though, you'll end up wanting an upgrade. Best to wait for a better source to come along, IMHO. |

07/21/2003 | Mt | i have a source up on BT right now if you want to check it out (480/ck61 > PS-2 > USBPre > Vaio). As far as the "swishy" sound goes.....Bonner Springs isn't a covered pavilion(I was dissapointed at this) so it was on the breezey side all night. So for the most part, you will get that swishy sound, especially with the symbals. |
