This was in Columbia, not Charleston, SC. Also, how does this seed differ from the previous Oade seed? |

Knowing Doug pretty well , I would say he ran this one back through DSP (as noted above). As far the technical aspects , the average human could only say : " It, uh, sounds better ??!! " For the full details on DSP you would have to ask the 'Man' himself. He hears what no average human hears (thats for sure !) and thats why everything he does sounds soooo good ! |

Doug Oade (the taper) performed some Digital Signal Processing on this version (and is doing so on a number of his other fall '85 masters). His DSP is generally very conservative and consists of minor equalization (to remove room anomolies) and minor compression. I haven't heard this particular show yet, but his work on 11-11-85 is subtle but very nice. Also, note that this recording (and many other oade masters), while previously labeled as FOB, was actually recorded from the tapers section. |
