"The Clifford Ball Flatbed Jam" (excerpt)  13:39

?mic > Sony D6 > Master DAT > Cass/1 > CDR > EAC > Soundforge 6.0 > FLAC

Tape to cdr transfer done with an HHB 830-burnit stand alone burner.

Notes:
This excerpt of the infamous Clifford Ball faltbed jam was taped on the fly by
Guy Gimbrone (RIP) and Justin Clutter of Roscoe, IL.  Microphones used are unknown
at this time because when Guy made this tape for me we were not in the habit of listing
sources.  One must be warned that this is a mobile recording with Guy holding the microphones
and Justin carrying the deck as they followed the flatbed, dodging cops on horseback and fans.
The microphones did get bumped and you will hear it.  The only edits I made were to raise the
volume of the first 51 seconds where levels were set low and then lower the volume of the next
13 seconds where levels were high, the fade-in to begin existed on the source tape.  The
excerpt ends abruptly and I left it that way without a fade because that is where the flatbed
started moving faster and in Guy and Justin's efforts to keep up, the microphones detached
from the deck.  This is all was that was taped by Guy and Justin.  Enjoy!

Seed created on 2/19/04 and dedicated to the memory of Guy Gimbrone (2/6/69 - 9/9/03), my best
friend whom I miss dearly.

05/13/2004 Don Crawford Very neat to hear. Smooth jam by Phish taped on the run. I think that the bumps, audible voices, and whistles added to the unexpectedness of the event and makes the tape more genuine and fun. My thanks...
