12/06/2006 | btet | This sounds at least a quarter tone flat. I figure that by comparing Brent's synthesizer in Throwing Stones with both a generated 440 hz A and a 329.63 hz E played in Cool Edit.
12/06/2006 | charlie miller | That's assuming that his synth is 100% accurate (unlikely). There are more accurate ways to test pitch, and cool edit pro is not the best way to do it. I'm not saying that the pitch is 100% perfect (no tape is), I'm just saying there are better ways of testing it. I could get more scientific, but this is not the place for that.
12/06/2006 | charlie miller | Is the whole show off or just the end?
01/07/2007 | btet | It sounds like the whole show. I shifted the pitch up 22 cents in Wavelab and was about to seed it, but after reading your comments I want to hold off until I've had a chance to talk more with you about it (especially about those more scientific methods). Just so you know, I wasn't looking for pitch discrepancies - I was comparing the Sennheiser FOB for quality to see if it was still worth keeping (has that nice spooky ambiance to it). The SBD just sounded flat in comparison to it and the other sources, so I was going with the preponderance of evidence. |
