We (the serious tapers) arrived outside 45 min. or so before doors. When we got in, we
waited for the sound engineer to return from an errand to ask for whatever support he
would furnish. Larry Narachi, James Welborn and sevral others eventually moved to FOB
where they felt they would get more of the stuff that would only come from the PA. That
left me and Dave Skatch the only ones on the stage with a mics, plus I ran a mic on each
PA main as I always do. The band played without a break past the limits of my 1st tape,
which I shut off at over 185 min. Because of the tape change, I have had to make an edit
at appr. 19m 25s into the third track on d3, where I made the splice between the two
tapes and lost maybe 10 sec. of music. The timing couldn't have been better as to what
the boys were playing, which lent itself to a good splice.
Each disc's tracks were shn'd separately, and the only disc with a track that needed
padding was d3 t04.
