Taper's show comments:
It was drizzling in Conway when we found the stage on Hendrix Campus. It was a small stage setup but complete with lights rigging etc. The student gov. rep. promised there would be a show either inside in the gym or on stage. I headed to Starbucks to wait. It stopped raining so we rushed back over. There were a few guys taking the tarps down and Luther stuck his head out and walked around for a bit. At that point about 15 people were standing in front of the stage. The soundboard put on some music and a few more people walked up. All the sudden the sky cleared, the moon and stars popped out, and NMAS rocked to a crowd of about 200 people or so. They played the standards for about an hour and a half until the sheriff shut them down. Luther said that everytime they play AR they throw in "Baby What'd I Say" and they did, plus "La Grange".
vanark's notes on post-transfer editing:
As was noted in the taper's comments, there were complaints to the sheriff on the volume of the show which resulted in the NMA soundman decreasing the volume a tad as the show progressed. This is partially offset by boosting the volume of the last 25 mins. by an additional 4 dB. This was done simply so the listener didn't need to reach for their volume controls. Any problems with the show are strictly mine as the taper handed off a fine show to me. I tried not to mess with it too much.
