Remove the first comment please. I've been told the balloons popping are the complete cause of the noise. thanks. :) |

03/19/2002 | James Clark | Touch of Grey and Let it Grow are pretty much unlistenable due to some static/diginoise (or balloons? as mentioned in above comment). The rest of the show sounds great though.

i guess you (comment above) never went to a new years show or saw all the balloons get dumped on the stage. if you actually LISTEN to the sound closely during quieter passages you can hear the ambient reverb from the balloons exploding. try doing this about 100 times with headphones on in the dark while looking at the waveform magged down to 1:1 - this is what i did before i seeded this show. the waveform appearance of the balloon pop in terms of attack and duration is also inconsistent with an extraction error. a number of audience members were blessed with the power to see future extraction errors in real time and let out yells after an error as well - stay tuned for timings in the new updated info file... i hear the balloon pops on the other source of this show. i hear balloon pops on other NYE shows as well. if you download this from gdlive.com (where its posted) and you think these are pops then make sure to avoid downloading other festive shows i seeded with balloons popping: 12/31/91, 2/27/90 - just wait - the balloon pop-free versions are coming real soon ;p |

08/13/2002 | e. | Thanks for the warning, neo. I'll be sure to avoid your festive seeds from now on! lol.
08/14/2002 | Mr.Marmar | Sounds nice and clean....though to me it doesn't sound like a SBD...again, kinda sounds like a MATRIX of some sort, but it still sounds real good. Only reason for the MATRIX thought is the high-end (cymbals and "S's" sound like they would on an AUD recording) I'll give it an 8.5 outta 10.

09/18/2006 | btet | Even though the new Joanie Walker SBD that Charlie Miller just circulated is of superior quality, I'm still going to hold on to this source for the audience factor. When I'm in an audiophile mood I'll listen to the Miller seed, when I'm in the "remember the good ol' days" mood I'll pop in this audience-heavier version. Thanks for both sources. :-D
