01/11/2002 | Jake Mercatoris | The proper name for Memphis Blues is either "(Stuck Inside Of Mobile With The) Memphis Blues" or just "Memphis Blues." "Stuck Inside A Mobile" is incorrect. The long name might be "...With The) Memphis Blues Again," I can't remember, but either way it's wrong in this .txt file.
01/17/2003 | Tim Wiley | Quick Question: Is this shn source the same as the new Dicks Picks # 27 ? I noticed "beautifully mastered from the original two-track source tape" is at the end of the link. Any answers to this question would be very helpful so I don't so the wrong thing here. TIA Tim

Tim, IMHO, this would be no different from the circulating 11.1.85 sbd, or other sbds circulating from vault-based sources that were circulated BEFORE the dick's picks release. In other words, while folks should be strongly encouraged to purchase the dick's pick (and get a presumably pure digital copy of the show without the extraneous cassette generation), continued trading of this copy does not appear to violate the LETTER of the dead's trading policy. PERSONALLY, however, now that this show is available as a dick's picks release, I will no longer trade my soundboard copy in hopes that my actions will allow GDP to pull in a bit more $$$ to support itself (but that's just me) |
