The Review: Well, we waited in line for much longer then was really needed. This always seems to happen at the
Sunshine Theatre. Not really sure why. Then once inside, we got some seats and waited some more. Finally at 9:15
or so, the opening act, Hazard County Girls played. The sound at this point was awful and some of the speakers
were crackling when the singer was doing her thing. Also, the vocals were VERY low during their set. They played
for about 40 minutes or so, then there was another half hour break. Rasputina came out at about 10:30 or so and
played a great set. Sound was right on for all instruments and vocals. They played a lot of different styles of
music. They also did some covers, of which Heart's 'Barracuda', was my favorite. An hour set was played, they band
left and then came back for an encore where they did two more songs. All in all a great performance! It didn't hurt
that there was some air moving through the venue and there was no smoking. I certainly hope this is a permanent
addition to the Sunshine Theatre. After this show, I hurriedly ran over to the Atomic Cantina to tape The Mindy Set!

The Recording: Came out great. The Hazard County Girls recording is a bit deficient in vocals, but that is how it
sounded. There is no 'distance' to the vocals on these recordings, unlike my other two recordings to date from this
venue.
