I've patched and seeded a fix of d1t02 (there was a brief dropout in Jack Straw with the first few words of verse two missing). The .md5 for the fix track is: 2addc41aa6008421bc85ff0301a174b6 *gd1987-10-04d1t02-patched.flac |

The info file for the d1t02 patch, seeded 10/27/2006: Grateful Dead 10/4/87 Shoreline Amphitheatre Mountain View, CA Patched track d1t02 (Jack Straw) Main source (shnid 79381): Healy Matrix SBD > MC > DAT (48KHz)> DAT. DAT kindly provided for transfer by B.Koucky, rec'd from B.Fried in 1996. Transfer: DAT playback on Sony PCM-R500 > XLR analog outputs > Neutrik inputs, Presonus Firebox (pre-amplification and analog-to-digital) > firewire > PC/WinXP Pro > recorded as 24 bit/96 KHz WAV using Wavelab 5 > mastered with Waves L3 Multimaximizer > rendered to 16/44.1 using Waves IDR (type I dither/ultra shaping) > tracking (CDWAV 1.9) > FLAC (level 8). Transfer, mastering and lossless encoding by C.Ladner, October 2006. Patch source (shnid 8830): SBD>CM>DAT>CD>EAC>SHN DAT > CD transfer by David Hollister. Patching was done in CE Pro. No speed/pitch alteration necessary, patch source volume lowered 2.6 db. 1 second fades were used. Patch was done from the very beginning of the second verse to "of July". It's slightly noticeable with headphones, damn near impossible on speakers. Note: If you're burning to CD you should run this and the following d1 files through shntool to fix the resulting SBE - otherwise there will likely be a pop between the end of this track and d1t03. Patched and seeded by Bill Tetzeli (btet@adelphia.net) on 10/27/2006 MD5 checksum: 2addc41aa6008421bc85ff0301a174b6 *gd1987-10-04d1t02-patched.flac shntool output: length expanded size cdr WAVE problems filename 6:10.71 65435200 -b- -- ---xx gd1987-10-04d1t02-patched.flac 6:10.71 65435200 B (total for 1 file, 0.6479 overall compression ratio) |

10/31/2006 | neo_levo | i listed the source incorrectly in the info file - it should be SBD > PCM > DAT. There is no cassette gen. Also it wasn't listed on the dat as being a Healy Ultramatrix but there definitely is crowd in the mix. | |
03/27/2007 | charlie miller | This originates from a cassette master. It has a tape flip at the same spot that Joani Walker's sbd cassette master flips. |
