Pat Metheny Group
November 9, 1986
Detroit, MI

Pat Metheny
Lyle Mays
Steve Rodby
Paul Wertico
David Blamires
Nana Vasconcelos

A good old-fashioned B audience recording, with some
distortion in loud passages, cuts at tape flips, and
coughing during quiet tunes by the lady in the next seat
and other neighbors.

Those things said, this tape is really quite listenable.
Plus, the show features an unusual PMG lineup (vocalist/
multi-instrumentalist Mark Ledford is not yet in the
Group, and Nana Vasconcelos returns briefly in a low-key
supporting role) and interesting early versions of
Change Of Heart and Scrap Metal. This show is well worth
hearing, too, to admire Blamires' considerable talents
as a solo vocalist a la Pedro Aznar.

* long, melody-less, spacey, sound effects-laden tone

would be taken for use in Half-Life Of Absolution in
later years

The original FLAC seed had "San Lorenzo" in eight pieces
with the band introductions prepended to the first piece.
I joined them all then split off the band introductions.

Here are the FLAC fingerprints for the original tracks:

Before "Phase Dance", PMG opened the show with "Forward March" (missing from this recording).

There are silent gaps near most track boundaries and abrupt cuts elsewhere.
