Kaki King at the Paradise, Boston, MA, April 05, 2008, ZOOM audience recording.
This was recorded with Zoom Palmtop Studio PS-04, with single built-in mic (mono recording) onto a 128 MB PNY SmartMedia card. PS-04 was lined into computer with Audigy Soundblaster SE. Markings and cdr made with Magix Music On CD And DVD program. Cdr converted to wav with Roxio Easy Media 8, flac with Flac Frontend.
The sound quality on this gets an A-. Though mono, it came out really nice. It was recorded from the edge of the balcony up against the wall on the side of the drums, the recorder sitting untouched on a ledge. You can hear some bar chatter here and there, but it's mostly not too annoying. Usually this recorder doesn't do that well with louder music, but it did really well with this show. Unfortunately, I only got about 53 minutes with the PS-04, but I did get the whole show with my Sony cassette recorder, which sounds pretty good as well, so I'll work on getting that uploaded by tomorrow evening. I wanted to get this up first, as it sounds nicer than the tapes, and the tapes will take a little bit more time.
Enjoy - don't sell, don't trade as mp3, give credit when trading in the future. Be on the lookout for my other source.
