It was a short (too short) 45 minute set as a warm up for Dave Matthews Band. They plan to play Live at the Levee later on this summer. I'm hoping to be there and I'm hoping they put on a longer show. The first band ever to play in the new Busch Stadium! I got lucky. Ever since this show was announced, I was trying to figure out a way to tape it and work it at the same time. So two days before the show, my boss calls and asks me to be a cashier down on the floor for the two portable beer stations on the third base side. The dugout was secure with only limited access and I was allowed to keep a bank and count $$ there. Way cool, right under the 3rd base speaker stack with (most of the time) no one within fifteen feet of the recorder. I'm really surprised it turned out so well. The little Zoom handled it well. I'm sure that there will be better recordings that will surface, but for those of you who want a little taste of the first concert ever at the new Busch Stadium, here it is. There is the usual small talk here and there. A couple of times you hear an event radio back and forth but to me it sounds ok. No artwork included. If you want to make it up, by all means please do so. I've included a not so good pic of the bus stop posters around town. Not for sale in any way shape or form. Leave a comment and let me know if you like it already. Peace Hops |
