Persistent crowd noise through the entire show. Affects WIDOW OF A LIVING MAN / WAITING ON AN ANGEL more than others. Great version of MAMA'S GOT A GIRLFRIEND NOW and the precussion on BURN ONE DOWN / WITH MY OWN TWO HANDS sound exceptionally good. When the electric guitars kick in during THE WOMAN IN YOU the instrumental levels become a bit over bearing and consequently the vocals are drowned. The crowd is more restrained during the premiere of WHEN IT'S GOOD making it the best sounding track of the show. |

This is a great recording. Low crowd noise; only on a few occassions individual murmuring can be heard. Volume levels are great; no bass distortion or sibilance. But there seems to be slight hint of editing between STEAL MY KISSES and PLEASURE AND PAIN where the crowd noise is not seemless. |

I have managed to remove most of the pops in RAIN KING and ANNA BEGINGS using soundforge [simly deleted them - most deleted segments were < 0.001sec - no additional audible pops were introduced..... but beware I am no expert... its good enough for me]. There are still pops @ 4:48 of LIGHTNING as the track fades out and 3:20 of WERE ONLY LOVE which I could not "see" in the waveform and therefore could not remove. |

Overall the recording level is low. Relative recording levels between the two chanels fluctuate many times during most of the songs. Though the fluctuations are small they are a bit annoying when listening through headphones even at a moderate volume.

Overall the upper frequencies are very well resolved but the lower and mid bass is a bit soft and at places veers close to distortion.This is however no reflection on the actual recording process.As far as the recording goes, there is a period(about 4-5sec) at the begining of HANGING AROUND when Adam's mic fades in. There is also a a glitch on LONG DECEMBER @ 0:08 and 0:19; not sure whether these are from the recording equipment or part of the broadcast. Contains a 9min 30sec long version of AROUND HERE with parts of COME PICK ME UP (Ryan Adams). |

Overall the show sounds distant, there is some clipping at places where the crowd cheers/screams in the middle of the songs. There is a fair bit of bass boom and the instrumental mix is a little muddy. Lots of crowd noise. Track 7 (MR.JONES):a dip in recording level between 2:59>3:16 also fades out at the end. Track 8 (AMERICAN GIRLS): UP TO 0:29 mark the volume is great which then dips. Track 9 (A LONG DECEMBER): is the best recorded track apart from the screaming women.

Overall the the crowd noise is fairly high in the mix. Although this sounds great add to the atmosphere when they sing/clap along eg. on OMAHA; it becomes a bit annoying when individual conversations can be heard during the songs. MRS. POTTER'S LULLABYE: the bass is very muffled, the treble splashy (Quality= C+); thereafter the sound improves> the bass tightens and the treble becomes a little sweeter, vocals and guitars are clear throughout (Quality = B). MIAMI: sounds great but is spoiled by a conversation near the recorder. CATAPAULT: the treble is fairly splashy again. GOODNIGHT LA: a great version, the crowd behaves for the most part, few screams, the taper or someone nearby seems to fumble with equipment nearby. START AGAIN (Teenage Fan Club cover); one of the better recorded tracks, the show is worth getting for this alone! SULLIVAN STREET: some MD fumbling during the song. |

WATCH OUTSIDE is the only problematic track. It has the following flaws; static/pops @ 0:10, 0:19-0:20, 0:25, 0:27, 0:32-0:33 and 0:37-1:16. This apart it is a good recording. The crowd noise is a bit high in the mix, most evident during the quieter passages of RUNNING OUT OF TIME and DRIVEN TO TEARS. The performance of WISHLIST must be one of the most lifeless I have heard. The show has the following flaws: WATCH OUTSIDE-> distortion between 0:10 to 1:15; there is also a slight hint of static at each track boundary. |

There are spots of very minor electrical interference through-out the recording; mostly only audible in between songs. LAST KISS> static/interf and vocal warp @ 4:00-4:22, static @ 6:28 and click @ 6:41. The last two are in between songs. WATCH OUTSIDE> first night's performance sounded more energetic. Probably because instruments are a little lower in the mix?. RUNNING OUT OF TIME> conversations in the crowd can be heard during the quieter passages. WHISHLIST has a different intro and other guitar parts (sorry not a musician!), "hands up raised, lucky chicago crowd". I AM A PATRIOT> static/pop from 0:05 to 0:54, more significant ones are @ 0:46-0:48, 0:52 and 0:54. |

I am not a great fan of Jack Johnson but cannot fault the recording. All instruments and vocals are clear and in their respective levels are in the right proportions. But the crowd noise is a little high specially on Posters and there is guy who keeps shouting "Where is Danny?" at every available opportunity until Its All Understood. |

Rest of the show (B-)Sounds very much like a transmission over a cheap radio, negligible bass depth and a fair amount of sibilance.2:42 into EVEN FLOW the recording level rises and stays at this level for the rest of the show. There is a pop at the boundary of ONCE and SOLAT. There is a noticable break between ALIVE and BLACK. Some editing between JEREMY and BREATH. Few seconds cut at the begining of I'VE GOT A FEELING. |

The midband is great. For most part vocals, drums and guitars are clear however low bass is a bit boomy and the high treble a bit splashy. Bass boom is noticiable in the softer songs such as Black. The mix is just about right in Yellow Ledbetter. Fuckin Up: @ 2:30 there is dropout of low frequencies. MFC: drop out @1:25 > 1:26. Nothingman: glitch @ 1:41 |

The bass is a bit boomy but there is no distortion. Apart from that this is a great recording with wonderful treble and mid range detail. 1:20 into SLEEPWALKER the gain is increased by the taper. On a few songs there is some low level crowd noise. |
