04/15/2005	2	Drifty	This guy contacted me for a 1 DVD trade which i agreed to. He sends me his DVD which will not play on my computer and is deemed not tradeable. He says he will send a replacement so i send his DVD back to him and he gets mad because i do not include the DVD he wanted. That is not how it works pal. You contacted me therefore you send first. A defective DVD does not count. You still send first. That is standard trading practice. well this guy decided he does not want to send me a good DVD so the trade is off. We are only out a little bit of postage. No harm done. Let this be a lesson for the rest of you. If you send someone a disc they cannot use- send a replacement quickly and you will get what you wanted in return. This time there was no harm done. But be carefull.

Response: For the record I was upset because deano did not inform me of his "trading practice" at the beginning, communication is key. I was am/more than happy to replace a defective DVD (please note the disc in question played on Deano's stand-alone player, in both of my DVD drives and stand-alone player). I for one am not aware of his "Standard trading practice" and have always been involved in trades (quite a few in the past 6 years here at the tree) where both parties send/recieve discs at about the same time.
