I only tape shows in and around the Pittsburgh PA area (within a few hours of) and use the following setups: Audio Technica AT831 cardioid directional micrpohones (48V phantom power, no bass roll) > Neutrik XLRM connectors > Tascam DR-100 SD recorder
Panasonic WM-60AY's (omni mics) > Church UBB > Tascam DR-100 (line)
Backup recorder: Zoom H2 (with or without omni mics) TERMS AND CONDITIONS How do I trade?
-FLAC (or SHN) files over the Internet using MegaUpload.com (file archives in .rar/.zip/.7z formats)
-I can also seed BitTorrents (I use Azureus v. 2.5) - member of DIME, ZOMB, and The Traders Den, etc..
-I ONLY DO MAIL TRADES IF I REQUEST ONE, OR IF WE AGREE TO ONE. I do not do blanks+postage unless I have to in order to get something I need, so don't ask. I can also do SD flash card trades if the situation absolutely demands. As of 2011 I can also trade out and "get rid of" hard copies of basically anything that's not in my "Alice in Chains and Related" section.
What won't I accept in trades?
1. NO DAT TAPE TRADES UNLESS I SOMEHOW REQUEST ONE. I *might* trade OUT my own DAT tapes (clones AND masters) for 4-5 shows in a compressed wave format (SHN/FLAC), providing you also have the ability to transfer the tape to SHN/FLAC on your own and give them back to me in FLAC format.
2. NO ANALOG TAPE TRADES unless I request one.
3. NO CHEAP CRAPPY CD-Rs or DVD-Rs: I will only accept Audio/DATA CDRs that are light-blue surfaced and made in JAPAN (i.e. Taiyo-Yuden, Mitsui, Memorex, Sony, Fujifilm, Maxell music). Anything else besides blue-surfaced JAPANESE-made CD-Rs is more or less unacceptable. Most retailers carry Japanese made discs in these brands from 30-100 packs, but heed these packs are often mixed together with Taiwanese makes. PLEASE READ THE PACKAGE WHEN BUYING TO MAKE SURE. CDR's, must be burned 12x speed or under, disc-at-once with an acceptable program such as CDRWIN . For DATA CD-R's use something like Nero that does "data verification after burning."
4. NO LOSSY MATERIAL. LOSSLESS/CLONED material only! I will NOT accept any material with any flaws that aren't *supposed* to be there, i.e. no pops/clicks/gaps that are caused by careless editing or data handling. Audio CD-R's Must have seamless "disc at once" (DAO) track transitions (NO TRACK-AT-ONCE burning). Also NO lossy sourced shows with downsampled audio data (MP3/WMA, etc). To these ends I randomly conduct spectral analyses on PCM WAV audio that has been "upsampled" and I do find and flame the people who try to pass this lossy material off as "kosher." Summary of my Capabilities -Archival Methods - CD-R (Fuji-Japan only), DVD-R (single layer), backup HDD's (120GB+160GB internal, plus 120GB internal drives enclosed externally), 1TB external HDD.
