Interview (bad sound)
From a 1968 Gene Shay interview with Joni, I can now provide this bit of trivia.
The Posall and The Mosalm are characters from a mythology Joni developed in the 1960s. Their names are acronyms:
Posall = Perhaps Our Souls Are Little Ladies
Mosalm = Maybe Our Souls Are Little Men
Sisotowbel is also an acronym:
Somehow In Spite Of Trouble Ours Will Be Everlasting Love

During this Gene Shay interview Gordon Lightfoot was seated across from Joni and can be heard occasionally during this between-song dialog.

Joni opened for Ian & Sylvia on a bill that also included Howard
Hessman. At the suggestion of Buffy St. Marie, Elliot Roberts
attended this show to hear and meet Joni. After Elliot expressed
an interest in managing her career, Joni invited him to accompany
her to Ann Arbor for her next appearance. Two songs of Joni
performing were included in the 1991 video/laserdisc release
Village Voices.
