Pieces Of Eight Guitar solo > Rockin' The Paradise Edge Of The Century (Burtnik lead vocal) Long Tall Sally (Burtnik lead vocal) Run Run Rudolph (Burtnik lead vocal) Great Balls Of Fire Suite Madame Bluem Babe The Best Of Times Encore: Come Sail Away
This show was performed near the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania, a popular honeymoon spot where Dennis and his wife spent their honeymoon (he refers to it during the show). On this night he played with his usual band, with the addition of special guest and ex-Styx bandmate Glen Burtnik on stage the entire show. An unexpected highlight came about two-thirds of the way through when they broke into a spontaneous, energetic romp through Long Tall Sally, Run Run Rudolph, and Great Balls Of Fire! As far as I know these are a rarity for a DDY show. Dennis sang an acapella version of Show Me The Way with his backup singers. The man has an UNBELIEVABLE voice that has only deepened and mellowed with time. His vocal abilities really shine on Show Me The Way.

Overture The Grand Illusion Lady (with Ravel-Bolero excerpt) Desert Moon Lorelei (with Mozart-Eine Kleine Nachtmusik intro) Show Me The Way Ave Maria (Byram/DeYoung, from Hunchback) Castle Walls Guitar solo > Rockin' The Paradise Don't Let It End (with Debussy-Claire de Lune intro)
Light Up Mr. Roboto Pieces Of Eight (with Nutcracker-March Of The Sugar Plum Fairy interlude) With Every Heartbeat (Byram/Milan/DeYoung, from Hunchback) Black Wall Suite Madame Blue Babe The Best Of Times Encore: Come Sail Away
Dennis played with his band accompanied by an approximately 30-piece orchestra. This is the show that he did for his PBS special, which is available on DVD (if you're a DDY fan get it, you won't be disappointed!) The orchestra is front and center at many points--during the instrumental overture of Styx tunes and during several songs that have additional classical excerpts cleverly appended. Also, you can hear orchestra parts here and there throughout the set, e.g. during Castle Walls. Dennis also gives guest spots to two very talented vocalists who sing selections from his musical The Hunchback of Notre Dame. The venue was Philadelphia's premier concert hall, where the Philadelphia Orchestra plays. Dennis sang an acapella version of Show Me The Way with his backup singers. The man has an UNBELIEVABLE voice that has only deepened and mellowed with time. His vocal abilities really shine on Show Me The Way.
