Compilation

TRACK LISTING FOR DISC 1: 1. The first time I got this is was listed as "Palace Dance Show," and it does look like it could have been shot in the Palace, a club in Hollywood, CA. The second time, it just said "Palace." It is circa 83 and SRV plays Lovestruck Baby & Pride and Joy 2. 7/85 "Thrill of a lifetime" candadian TV. Guy gets to meet and jam w/ Stevie 3. Mantague Center, Beaumont, TX - TV footage as broadcast and uncut, very rough at times, but still cool. Includes "Ain't Gone 'n Give up on Love" live 4. Misc. Canadian TV appearances - this first part was on the 2nd Chronological Compilation I posted, I think it is Toronto 88, but it could be another nearby city or province. Unknown Instrumental> Lovestruck baby (cuts in progress) 1 gen higher than the last one I posted and contains more footage. 5. Continued Canadian footage circa 89/90 - House Is Rockin' > Crossfire (cuts)>Colin James comes out>Lovestruck Baby 6. SRV & Jeff Healy, "It's Only Rock 'n Roll" Toronto circa 1987, Look at Little Sister (this and a few seconds of Beaumont are about as bad as the videos go on this entire set of 6 DVDs. 7. 1989, Jeff Beck & SRV "Live from UIC Arena) w/ Terry Bozzio Drums, Tony Hymas keys, "Goin' Down" Text on video says UCP Arena, which is why this is commonly mislabled as such. 8. Seattle 89 - Audience shot from floor, Voodoo Chile (a slight return) > Third Stone. If you actually listen, SRV does some very cool things in Tribute to Jimi in his hometown, coaxing a lot of Hendrixian sounds in Third Stone. 9. Fiddler's Green, Englewood CO, 1990/07/17 - Collin's Shuffle, complete and uncut, 1 gen better than what is on "Chronological comp. #2, plus uncut. Ignore unknown date in SRV books, I was there, have stub, this is correct date 10. Music Link Red Rocks interview circa 1989. Red Rocks is in Morrison, CO, which is essentially Denver. 11. Don't Mess With Texas, SRV plays a bit of slide 12. Umbria Jazz Festival, 1985/07/16 - almost 5 years to the day earlier than Fiddler's, Audience shot. 16-17 mins, includes "Scuttle Buttin (starts in progress)> Say what, Ain't Gone 'n Give up on Love. 13. Fitzgerald's, Houston TX, 1982; Since I removed a good sized bit of video from the banned torrent, I added this often requested footage. Don't get too excited, it is VERY dark and you can barely see SRV at all. Still, he does play Voodoo Chile (a slight return), Heartfixer, and Pride and Joy. You can see him a little bit better on the 2nd and 3rd song, but it is overall too dark. Just FYI, I looked over the footage that is traded as "Saturday Night Live rehersal" and it is not a rehearsal, it is the same as what was broadcast, so it won't be included on this, or any, disc because both songs were officially released.

TRACK LIST FOR DISC #2 1. Chastain Park, Atlanta, 1988/08/28 "Mary had a little lamb" aud. I have this whole show, but out of the entire thing, this is the only song I ever watch, and man does stevie burn on it! This video has great sound, but mostly is just obstructed views. There MIGHT be 2 more salvagable songs on the whole video, but this is the best and I made these for my enjoyment and I dug this track.Audience shot. 2. New Zealand TV, 1984, pro shot, unknown bass player, Interview, Texas Flood, Pride and Joy [note: After finishing all 7 discs I came across another tape that had the song Hideaway from this same show in very poor quality, too late to include it though] 3. Volunteer jam w/ members of Lynyrd Skynyrd, Mason Ruffner, Charlie Daniels is onstage but doesn't appear to play pro shot, "Call me the breeze" 4. 1990/04/19 - Stevie puts boots and handprints and such into a Blues walk of fame. I think this is in Fargo ND. private shot no music 5. Encore with Joe Cocker's band, 1990/07/15, St. Louis MO, aud. shot, "Watching the River flow" 6. Soundcheck, probably Dallas, 1987, Willie The Wimp, 7. Grammy Awards, 1985. The entire segment w/ Chuck Berry, George Thorogood, SRV. Chuck is playing Mayballine, the guys come out and do Roll over Beethoven> SRV and GT leave and Chuck finishes up. pro shot 8. Stevie and GT present the grammy to Chuck Berry 9. Universal Studios, Universal City CA, circa 1990 "Beach Boys of Summer" Crossfire, pro shot 10. Same location, different source, "Tightrope" pro shot 11. Lifetime, a Candadian TV show, circa 1985, Interview with solo performance (Life without you, small bit of Say what) 12. JVC Jazz fest, circa 1985, Newport. pro shot, couldn't stand the weather 13. Beaver Dam Canada, Interview pro shot, circa 1984 NOTE: ALL GREGG ALLMAN MATERIAL REMOVED TO COMPLY WITH NAB LIST! 14. Same location, performance raw footage, Wham>Testify (cuts) ALL GREGG ALLMAN PERFORMANCE FOOTAGE REMOVED (They jammed together) Cool stuff. 15. Saratoga NY, circa 1985 audience shot, not great, Scuttle Buttin'>Say What>Ain't Gone 'n Give up on Love>Pride and Joy (cuts, taper moves around then stops). 16. Junteenth Fest, 1985, w/ Johnny Clyde Copeland and his band. Often wrongly listed as 1979. semi pro shot 17. Houston Astrodome, audience, SRV plays the Star Spangled Banner on Slide. This often gets ripped as SRV all wasted with a whole bunch of effects, but the 'effect' is him playing slide. Maybe not the best choice, but it is what it is and isn't too bad IMHO.

TRACK LISTING FOR DISC #3 1. Farm Aid III? Pro shot, Manor Downs TX, 1986/07/04 Change it (in progress), Mary had a little lamb, lovestruck baby, you'll be mine 2. Canadian TV news clip '87, includes live footage 3. Another newsclip circa 87, CNN 4 Seattle, 1989, audience, this is a snippet of each song performed prior to the encore. It may be the master is this way, it may be it is not. The encores are full songs and on another compilation posted already. This is a minute or two of each song so all songs are cut. This wasn't traded that often as I recall. 5. Same as above, Crossfire only. 6. Kuusrock 198, alternate view, this is the footage that was actually broadcast, no time code, "So What" 7. MTV rebroadcast of Superstition from the 'Characters" special, w/ Stevie Wonder, Jodie WHatley, Salt n' Peppa, with MTV news intro 8. Alternate source, "Dont ever make your love come down" also from "Characters" duo with Stevie wonder and unseen band 9. Continuation of MTV news, included Voodoo (slight return) from Chicago 89 (this appeared on a chronological compilation I uploaded in Sept., but this copy is better) 10. SRV Interview, circa 1988, possbily "wired" - includes lesson from SRV. This has a cut in it to remove officially released music, so it continues in tracks 11&12 11. Continuation of interview w offical material removed 12. Same as above, final pert of interview 13. Hey Hey, it's Saturday Night, australia 1984/10/27 Melbourne, Australia, Texas flood (killer, wish I could upgrade) 14. Lieder & Leute, Berlin 1983, interview, Pride & Joy, mary had a little lamb, Lovestruck baby, Testify (full show as broadcast) 15. 1989/10/12, "Night music" also circulates as "Saturday Night" w/ 1989/10/02 as date, "crossfire", "Travis walk" 16. 1989/09/29 Today Show, broadcast footage without time box (some have a clock in the corner that isn't a timecode, but part of the program in some areas) "House is Rockin'" w/ short interview 17. Jeff Beck/SRV interview from MTV 9/89 18. Beck/SRV with Double Trouble, audience shot of encore, Toronto, 1989/11/92

1. Volunteer Jam X 1984 Time Coded footage for promos. Pro shot. Texas flood (in progress, Scuttle Buttin'. 2. Montreal Canada, LaRonde, 1988 Time Coded footage, pro shot, scuttle buttin'>Say what. Sound gets out of sync a bit as it goes on 3. Passaic NJ, Capitol Theatre, 1985/09/21, timecoded footage not broadcast . Sound fluctuates a bit. Pro shot. Life without you> crowd, encore: Lovestruck Baby, Pride & Joy (cuts - I think the footage goes on as the actual VHS tape ends). NOTE: I am describing this as it was labled when I received it. It may be that all these songs were in the broadcast and this is an alternate view, I don't really know (but I do know at least LS and PJ were broadcast). Since collectors want it all, here is this version!s 4. Easter Seals Telethon, 1985/03/03; Toronto, Global Studios, complete version. There are 3 versions I've seen of this show. The other two have telephone numbers and visa card symbols w/ phone numbers respectively scrolling throughout on the bottom of the screen. This version has neither and also has the introductions. Pro Shot. Testify>Pride & Joy>Loovestruck Baby, Voodoo Chile (A slight return). This is among my favorite footage ever as this is how seeing Stevie in his early 80's prime really was - exciting. 5. Circa 83 or earl 84, Austin, pro shot. A word on this and the next 2 clips: These circulate under various names and in separate parts that it took me a while to realize were all connected. I've never seen the entire thing together. Originally, it broadcast on Austin Channel 2, or that is what I believe. It is probably the Austin Opry House/Aud. shores, but it circulates incorrectly as Antones as well. "Things I used to Do" (stevie on telecaster after a string break) w/ the Fabulous Thunderbirds, The Crawl. Jimmie Lee Vaughan appears in fine form. 6. Same place, this is the band introduction from an alternate source 7. Alternate source, parts of SRV's set with Jimmie Lee Vaughan, Scuttle Buttin', Couldn't Stand the Weather, Texas Flood (no JLV on TF) 8. Poppers, Japanese MTV show, circa 1985, only the Jam portion. Thanks to the Moderators the full version will appear on comp #5 as I have that as well and it appears to meet the guidelines. 9. Jerry Lewis Telethon for Muscular Dystophy, 1987ish, "Look at little sister" pro shot. 10. A very short French interview circa 87/88 11. Another MTV News Jeff Beck/SRV spot with brief live footage and interviews 12. Pizzaz, 1984 show 13. Continued from above, a section in the middle cut to conform with DIME rules re: offical material 14. Much Music, possibly 5/88 but unclear as he was on that show a few times 15. 1984 interview, intro cut off as past DIME 30 second rule on offically released material 16. 1984 MTV interview, again with some officially released material edited out 17. 1987 interview given prior to the Daytona Beach performance 18. Night Music - after another performer, this interlude aired, very short, kind of funny 19. Anti Drug Commercial 20. It's Only Rock n' Roll - this is NOT the same appearance as the Jeff Healy on another compilation and a different source Quality is not good, but SRV is ripping. His beautiful girlfriend Janna Lapidus is, I believe, sitting beside him during the interview. Superstition>interview>show plays out to Willie the Wimp 21. "Night Music" circa 89 (interview on bus)

1. This was always traded as "Palm Sunday," Austin, 1984. Aud, view from waistup, good sound; Mary had a little Lamb, Tin Pan Alley, Pride and Joy, Texas Flood (cut in sound) 2. Maple Leaf Gardens, Toronto, 1988/05/10. This floated around seperately from the rest of the show. 3. Poppers, Japanese MTV, 1985, complete appearance, SRV plays some guitar, Chris plays sofa, 4. English Interview MTV 1988ish, official material edited out, continues for several tracks on this DVD to eliminate offical material per DIME rules 5. Continued, includes live "Lovestruck Baby" from MTV footage 6. Continued, discusses sobriety 7. Continued, discusses Hendrix, live "Soul to Soul" from MTV Mardis gras special 8. Continued 9. Continued 10. Super Short Entertainment Tonight clip w/ crash scene footage edited out 11. Tightrope, Austin City Limits 1989, this is the only track from that show yet to be officially released on DVD or CD 12. El Mocambo, Toronto, Canada, 1983, Litte Wing, the only track from the original broadcast yet to be officially released on DVD or CD 13. Much Music, Canadian TV circa 1985 interview 14. Tonight Show w/ Leno; Tightrope 15. "Sounds" interview, 1984 Australian TV 16. Much Music 1988 interview, 18 mos. sober, great interview 17. Canadian Interview, Much Music, circa 89, edited to remove official content per DIME rules 18. Continued 19. Canadian TV Music Plus News, the raw footage from the live concert footage is on another disc in this series, this interview is followed briefly by another in French from another source 20. Letterman 1989, "Wall of denial" There are actually two versions of this broadcast that differ by the ending (Letterman walks down next to SRV in one of them) but the performance is the same. This song cuts off in progress due to a disc error. To fix it, I would have to rerecord the entire DVD from VHS! So, I left it. The complete, but improved quality, 2nd version is the first track on disc 6.

1. Alt source of SRV Letterman rehearsal - this is actually 15-20 mins long, mostly of people with their backs turned, moving ladders, and stuff like that, all with no sound. At the beginning, there is a little sounds. This 5 mins is the best part. You won't miss the rest, trust me. Sound is very low intensity. 2. SRV Letterman '89 performance. Tightrope. This is better quality than the version at the end of disc 5 and is complete. 3. Austin City Limits 1990ish with W.C. Clark, untitled instrumental jam. 4. Tornado Jam, 1982 Manor Downs TX, pro shot. "Collins Shuffle." There are at least two versions of this. The TV broadcast included this track that is not included on the other version. 5. Tornado Jam continued, different source. This source has 2 more songs than the other version. Come On, Look at Little Sister. 6. Same, Dirty Pool 7. Same, Lovestruck Baby, Tell Me (which is not on the tv version) 8. Same, Manic Depression (also not on the tv version) 9. Costa Mesa CA, 10/02/1988; Stevie Ray, Jimmy Vaughan, Cesar Rojas jam with Santana. Filmed by crew. Everybody's everything>Jam. 10. Conversation with the Blues, a posthumous interview special on Much Music (Canadian TV). There are lots of versions of this circulating that are simply starting in progress and this footage was used in other, shorter shows, plus the footage comes from other full Much Music interviews anyway. This version is the most complete, including the introduction. It takes up several tracks because it has performance footage that is officially released that I cut in accordance with DIME policies. 11. Part 2 12. Part 3 13. Part 4 14. Part 5 15. Part 6 16. Part 7 17. Part 8 18. Roskilde Fest, Sweden, 1988 pro shot, Wille the Wimp, Cold Shot, Voodoo Chile (a slight return) EX 19. 1983 Austin City Limits, outakes. These were never broadcast, nor do they appear on any official CD. I looked high and low and this track and the next appear to be in the clear. Lenny (false start), Lenny (full). This version is one gen higher that what was on the chronological compilation that I made that included the latter. 20. Also ACL 83, Tin Pan Alley 21. From the original broadcast of ACL 83, but never officially released on DVD nor on CD; Rude Mood.

1. MTV Mardis Gras Madness rare interviews, 02/12/1987, 03/01/87 and 03/02/87. Some of the confusion over Mardis Gras appearances comes from the fact that they were aired over 3 days originally. I may make a torrent of the entire thing minus official releases once I sort out completely what was released officially. There were interviews that came between airings of concerts, and these are what is represented here and in the next 5 titles. 2. Interviews cont. 3. Interviews cont. 4. Interviews cont. (These are short interviews, not long sections). 5. Interviews cont. 6. The very rare pre-SRV show interview w/ Martha Vaughan, SRV's mom making Poor Boys to feed SRV & DT. 7. The oft-requested Univ. of Houston, Hofheinz Pavillion tripod outdoor aud. shot, this is the 32ish minute version (a shorter version circulated) and in the best quality I have ever been able to find, which is still so-so, but better tha/ n most. You can't judge quality well off you-tube BTW, because if you squish a picture way down it tends to look sharper than it is. Jam 292, Voodoo Chile (a slight return), Look at little sister, Pride and Joy, Texas Flood. Stevie is ripping even if the vid is so-so 8 American Caravan, August of 1986, Orpheum Theatre in Memphis TN. Pro shot. The raw footage from this now circulates, but this is the best copy I ever got (out of many) of the actual TV broadcast with introduction by Lonnie Mack. Superstition, Look at Little Sister, Lovestruck Baby, Oreo Cookie Blues on acoustics with Lonnie Mack, Life Without You (2 months later Stevie would collapse and you can see the mental decline as he rambles during this), then the show plays out with "Rock People" w/ Lonnie and his band. 9. Letterman 8th anniversary special, Stevie is in the special band assembled for this event. This footage is just all the parts where the band plays. Stevie does rip a few leads in here. 10. Houston TX, 1986, I think this is Sam Houston Colliseum 02/01/1986. Audience shot, kind of rough but the band cooks, SRV has gear trouble. Pride and Joy, amp issues, Cold shot, Couldn't Stand the Weather (cuts). This is one that didn't trade much, only fair. 11. Arsenio Hall 07/19/89 1st gen guaranteed, Crossfire 12. House is Rockin' from Arsenio with interview 13. Arsenio closing of show 14. Bert Newton Show, 1984 Australia, SOUND REMOVED DURING PERFORMANCE as this is a lip sync. Cue up Cold Shot, I left a couple seconds at the beginning so you can tell where it starts, and watch how a lip sync is to be done. 15. Rock Influences, MTV 1985 Stevie gives a lesson in playing the blues, just SRV and #1. This is a huge upgrade over what was on the chronilogical Complilation #2 - I didn't realize I had this good a copy. A good way to end this 7 DVD journey.
