MADHOUSE OPENING ACT Mutiny Two Three Six

An extremely good document of a Sign O' The Times show. The show itself is a basic S.O.T.T. with a number of unique moments. Unusually 'Let's Go Crazy' begins with a very extended guitar solo before the normal performance proceeds. 'Forever in My Life' is the undoubted highlight of the show, and at a very lengthy 10 minutes is a joy from start to finish. One noticeable thing about the show is that Prince gets the crowd chanting on a much more regular basis than a normal show. The added opening tracks from Madhouses' set are a nice addition.

Forever In My Life Kiss The Cross It's Gonna Be A Beautiful Night (Including Cold Sweat - Take The A-Train)

Madhouse Opening Act Mutiny Two Three Six

This is also one of the better, more unique SOTT shows with an inspired performance containing some great moments. 'Hot Thing' contains a percussion solo to begin with, and Madhouses' 'Four' is played as opposed to the more usual 'Now's The Time'. 'Forever In My Life' is extremely lengthy at over 12 minutes long, and includes both some acoustic guitar and an organ solo. The closing 'It's Gonna Be A Beautiful Night' is (as with many other 87 shows) the real highlight, and this is no exception. It has the horn riff from 'Cold Sweat' added, and Prince stops and starts the song over and over, in fact he calls "On the one, y'all", and restarts so many times that the band presume after one particular "On the one" that he will call for them to "Kick some ass", and they launch into the song - they were wrong, and Prince screams out "I didn't call shit!!".

An excellent, although slightly incomplete document of the Sign O' The Times tour and the final show of the 4 Utrecht concerts. This is perhaps the best of the Utrecht shows in terms of performance. Once again 'Four' is played in place of the more usual 'Now's The Time'. The closing, lengthy version of 'It's Gonna Be A Beautiful Night' is the one which appears on various other boots (commonly the Paris 17th June show).
