Songwriter and producer Erik Koskinen has long been a part of the local music scene— even before he moved to Minnesota. Now living in St. Peter, Koskinen has opened a new studio in nearby Cleveland, Minnesota and continues to write songs and produce music by many of the outstanding artists from across the state. Erik Koskinen recently spoke with John Drake about both songwriting and production. Additionally, he talked about the differences between the Minnesota and Nashville music communities, and on the importance of arts and music education locally, to help produce the next wave of budding songwriters.
