[ DIFFERENCE | WANT LIST (28) | COMMENTS (9) | EMAIL ]

I'm not really trading right now: I have too many shows I need to listen to and I don't really have the time to trade properly.

Having said that: If there's something you'd like from my list, just drop me a note and include your trade list. I'll see what I can do.

The usual:

Please use quality discs and don't write on them. Please keep in touch. I like to know that the discs have arrived safely and everything is alright. If there are any problems drop me an email and I'll replace faulty discs. I expect you to do the same.

In case you want to know: I use TDK (sometimes Sony) CD-R 80 CDs (no specific DVD brand yet) and burn DAO 4X speed with Nero 6. I extract silver discs with EAC to my hard drive before burning. I do not use any fillers unless they came with the shows. In shn/flac-trades I include cover art, tracklisting and signatures where available. If I send audio discs I will email any additional information I have. If you'd like anything done different, please tell me.

Take care

Thomas

Bob Walkenhorst & Gary Charlson
Date Venue - City, State Notes Media
1. 01/03/91 Buzzard Beach - Kansas City, MO acoustic show, mostly cover versions and some Rainmakers/Walkenhorst songs; obviously an audience tape and some bugs; two acoustic Rainmakers songs from unknown venue as fillers ("Small Circles" and "Dry Land"); 3x74 minutes 3 CDR notes
2. ??/??/93 Big Time Studios - Kansas City, MO NO TRADES I'm not sure what I have here: it sounds like a studio recording so it might be Bob Walkenhorst & Gary Charlson - In The Shadows Of The Buzzard (1993) cassette-only release sold by Bob & Gary at Buzzard Beach, Kansas City MO; however: it has only 22 tracks and a different track order than listed here; seems like an edited version made to fit on a CDR-74; still looking for the full realease; 74 minutes 1 CDR notes

Boystown
Date Venue - City, State Notes Media
1. ??/??/81 Unknown Studio - Kansas City, MO pre-Rainmakers; 13-minute-cover-version-medley, one track; one CDR with Walkenhorst Brothers Last Adventure Album (1977), Boystown demo 1981 and Bob Walkenhorst demo 1982; 70 minutes 1 CDR notes

The Rainmakers
Date Venue - City, State Notes Media
1. 05/31/86 Parody Hall - Kansas City, MO "the last Steve, Bob & Rich (plus Pat) gig or the first Rainmakers concert" as Mark Jochim puts it; this is Mark's remastered version, which includes Christine as the first song and an interview at the end and which can be downloaded from archive.org; see www.mjochim.com/rainmakers/remasters/notes/RMRP01.html for more info on it all; 64 minutes 1 CDR, 1 shn notes
2. 01/29/88 O.T. Prices Music Hall - Soquel, CA great setlist but a quite muffled aud recording; 80 and 19 minutes 2 CDR, 1 fla notes
3. 07/23/88 Visulahti - Mikkeli, Finland fm broadcast of an excellent show; unfortunately the last three songs are missing and the last two I have are cut; my version is the one that was torrented on Dime in Feb 2009; 76 and 17 minutes 2 CDR, 1 fla notes
4. 04/01/89 The Blue Note - Columbia, MO a great three-hour-show but there are a couple of problems that spoil the fun: lots of minor skips, fades after two songs, and "Wild Oats" and "Big Fat Blonde" are incomplete; still a great show with a couple of nice cover versions; filler on disc 3: acoustic radio session 1989/09/28; 75, 70 and 65 minutes 3 CDR notes
5. 07/24/89 River North Studios - Chicago, IL excellent but short radio broadcast (the show only runs for an hour); including included 5 acoustic tracks from the B-Side of Reckoning Day 12" promo (Frustration Train, Renaissance Man, Spend It On Love, Johnny Reb, Downstream); the acoustic version of "Downstream" was officially released on the B-side of the Norwegian "Hoo Dee Hoo" single (Mercury Records 876 164-7) in 1989, the acoustic version of "Johnny Reb" was officially released on 'The Best of The Rainmakers' (Mercury Records 514 866-2, 1993) in Norway and used during the credits for the original VHS release of "The Rainmakers Video Anthology"; 80 minutes 1 CDR, 1 fla notes
6. 09/20/89 GreenStreets - Columbia, SC encores from Copenhagen 1989/11/15 als filler on disc 2: Let My People Go-Go - I Talk With My Hands - Information; 2 x 64 minutes 2 CDR notes
7. 09/28/89 KNON-FM Studios - Dallas, TX great acoustic radio session with interviews between the songs; judging by the EAC analysis my version is from the radio broadcast not from the pre-FM; 29 minutes 1 CDR, 1 fla notes
8. 10/14/89 The Blue Note - Columbia, MO another long show at the Blue Note; similar setlist to 04/01/1989 but I like the April show better; this one doesn't have the annoying skips that somewhat spoil the fun on the April show but volume drops twice; with filler 04/17/1999 on disc 3; 74, 75 and 52 minutes 3 CDR notes
9. 10/25/89 Filio's Cafe - Kansas City, MO acoustic radio session; filler on Stockholm 1989-11-09; couple of minor skips 1 CDR notes
10. 11/09/89 Konserthus - Stockholm, Sweden with filler 1989/10/25 ; minor skips during a couple of songs; 64 and 70 minutes 2 CDR notes

12. 06/23/90 The Blue Note - Columbia, MO of those three hour shows at the Blue Note this is definitely my favorite; minor flaws during "Battle Of The Roses" and "The Other Side Of The World" and transition errors after "Doomsville" and "One More Summer" but nothing that spoils the fun; 75, 60 and 35 minutes 3 CDR notes
13. 11/29/97 Beaumont Club - Kansas City, MO my CD copy has 90 seconds of silence at the beginning and some minor dropouts; downloaded it again from archive.org; 70 and 56 minutes 2 CDR, 2 shn notes
14. 04/10/98 Liberty Center - Sedalia, MO beginning of track 1/1 missing The Nace Brothers appear with the Rainmakers on the last 3 songs of the encore set. 2 CDR, 2 shn
15. 10/03/98 Harlow's Parking Lot - Springfield, MO nice mix of old and new songs; more info, artwork and the whole show available on archive.org/details/rainmakers1998-10-03.shnf; cut in 12-minute-medley after Drinkin' On The Job; 75 and 61 minutes 2 CDR notes
16. 04/17/99 Mill Creek Park - Kansas City, MO the last Rainmakers show ever; interesting different versions of the old songs; filler on 10/04/1989 1 CDR notes

Steve, Bob & Rich
Date Venue - City, State Notes Media
1. 04/??/84 Guido Toledo's Home Studio - Kansas City, MO pre-Rainmakers; first album "Balls", long out of print; with filler Demos 00/00/84; 78 minutes 1 CDR notes

3. 04/??/85 The Blue Note - Columbia, MO from http://mjochim.com/rainmakers/rmgigs.html: "90-minute soundboard recording circulates (excerpts of both sets)"; that would explain some cuts, quality drops and fade-outs; my copy has two songs more than listed here; 52 and 35 minutes 2 CDR notes

Walkenhorst Brothers
Date Venue - City, State Notes Media
1. ??/??/77 Unknown Studio - Maryville, MO one CDR with Walkenhorst Brothers Last Adventure Album (1977), Boystown demo 1981 and Bob Walkenhorst demo 1982; 70 minutes 1 CDR
