The Dead ??/??/04
Band Picks Summer Tour 2004 Mix Volume 1, 2 and 3, various, various
Set I
One song for each show from The Dead Official Concert Recordings Wave That Flag Tour
as picked by a member of the band and made available for download

Volume One:

cd1

01. Strange World 06/15/04 Red Rocks Morrison, CO
PHIL: This tune is less strange than most Mickey songs - I love the "anaconda on the prowl" jungle groove.

02. Cortez The Killer 06/16/04 Red Rocks Morrison, CO
WARREN: How about Cortez? That was really cool tonight, especially since its the first time we've played it.

03. US Blues 06/18/04 Red Rocks Morrison, CO
MICKEY: It's either Cumberland or U.S. Blues. Lets do U.S. Blues, since its kind of the theme for the tour and all.

04. Cassidy 06/19/04 Red Rocks Morrison, CO
JIMMY: Cassidy was probably the tightest song of the night. We were able to do all of the transitions really well.

05. Space>China Doll 06/20/04 Red Rocks Morrison, CO
JEFF: I pick China Doll from Sunday, but include the Space and the jam before it. I loved that part of the show.

06. Madman Across The Water 06/22/04 Cricket Pavilion Phoenix, AZ
BILLY: Why Madman? I just love that song!

07. Lazy River Road 06./23/04 Coors Amp Chula Vista, CA
BOBBY: We finally nailed that one.

Volume Two:

cd2

01. Low Spark of High Heeled Boys 06/24/04 Verizon Wireless Irvine, CA
PHIL: Here's some smoldering singing from Warren and some explosive playing from the band. Dig it.

02. One 06/26/04 Shoreline Mountain View, CA
WARREN: I'm really liking the new covers, so lets do "One".

03. Sugar Magnolia 06/27/04 Sleep Train Sacramento, CA
MICKEY: I'll let Caryl pick this one.

04. Black Throated Wind 06/29/04 USANA Ampitheater Salt Lake City, UT
JIMMY: I love that tune. Classic Bob Weir tune.

05. Johnny Be Goode 07/01/04 Idaho Center, Boise, ID
JEFF: Jeff was out of town, but I (Grahame) picked this classic rocker for you all.

06. Dear Mr Fantasy 07/02/04 Columbia Meadows, Portland, OR
BILLY: This is what it's all about!

07. Turn on Your Lovelite 07/03/04 The Gorge, George, WA
GRAHAME: It's Lovelight with Derek, probably my favorite guitar player ever. How can you go wrong?

Volume Three

Nissan Pav. Bristow, VA DEREK, FOH SOUND I really thought Loose Lucy flowed all the way through.
5. PLAYIN' IN THE BAND 8.17.04
Alltel Pav. Raleigh, NC JIMMY Branford played really well, but he's too respectful of a musician to really go off, like some of us were hoping. I really liked this Playin'.

Verizon Charlotte, NCWARREN Crazy Diamond was pretty awesome!
7. KEEP ON GROWING 8.19.04
HiFi Buys Atlanta, GA PHIL That was really hot!
