J-Card Comment:

Lou gave a relaxed performance, possibly due to voice troubles. You can hear his voice crack in a few spots (Waiting for My Man in particular) and Doug takes lead vocals on New Age, Satellite of Love, and White Light/White Heat. By Kicks, he could hardly speak at more than a whisper. By the final song, it was completely gone!

This concert doesn't fall into the "jazz" formula that would soon become standard for the band - there is definitely a funk groove going on.

Most of us are familiar with Lou's forays into Jazz throughout '76 and beyond, even working with Don Cherry, but so many of us forget that on the '75 tour he sometimes got EXTREMELY funky. Slow down the beat, excise the frilly drums, keep the sax under control - and let the funk flow!
