J-Card Comment:

1st gen. off master; complete and undoctored, plus: Prof Stoned's "Who Is This" remaster.

OK, since hohender was so kind and upped his remastered version of this real outstanding show (torrent #275209) recently, I decided it should be time to spread the lowest generation possible and entirely undoctored version, too.

For a lot of insightful info on thew show and his source check hohender's info there: http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=275209

As well the remastered version as this untouched recording here are both - most unfortunately, I may add - a wee bit inferior to the old (perhaps fake) Rubber Dubber vinyl bootleg album titled "Who Is This?".

You can find A LOT of highly useful background info on the vinyl, the remastering and the Rubber Dubber label issue here: http://tela.sugarmegs.org/_asxtela/asxcards/who1972-09-04.html

I have the original bootleg too and The Professor's version is really clearly superior to the album because he successfully eliminated the -occasionally - heavy surface noise that clearly does not derive from scratches (my copy is almost mint) but from an obviously subpar pressing and/or mastering.

Just too bad that Rubber Dubber - or the bootlegger who may have used his label as a disguise - decided to cut down the show to a single album, as this is simply one of the best sounding shows of this tour.

Hence I thought it may be the best if I used the entire space on the CDs for the undoctored complete source plus the much upgraded vinyl version.

MANY thanks also to the original taper of the complete version. Since there are obviously several 1st gen.-off-the-master-versions making their rounds in collectors' circles, it seems he was very generous in passing on straight copies of this source tape. This shouldn't be taken for granted. Please paas my greetings to him whoever may be in contact with him.

Many thanks also to Prof. Stoned for his remaster and his generous sharing. I bet you spent a few precious hours over this thingy.
