J-Card Comment: | First show of the '07 tour. Not as good as the last Pearl Jam show i've attended, but good enough. Great Eddie action ("que se foda Madrid"). The set was sort of a Greatest Hits from both the setlists of PJ last year shows in Portugal. A set for the masses fo sure. Nonetheless, Pearl Jam is always worth to check out live. As for the recording, the sound quality varies a lot. Could the sound have been any shittier?! The bass is all over the place as you can hear. This is far from one of my best captures. For starters, my gear is failing piece by piece: by BB seems to have some issue with the right channel. I arrived home and did some tests with a voltimeter and found out that the right channel is only being supplied with 1.5V if i don't adjust the cables properly. So, when the right channel DOES work, it overloads from time to time. This happened mainly during IO, Corduroy and Big Wave, but it occurs during the whole show in small portions. I've patched the right channel with the left one in these segments, making it mono in portions from 2msec to 9sec... don't get too dizzy. I've spent at least 9h of my life correcting static caused by this issue too. I've taped Andrew Bird less than a week ago without any problems, so i've only noticed this on the festival site. I'm definetely in a unlucky streak in taping, i've been having big and small fiascos lately. Well, here's the best i could do from last night. It's not that bad in the parts my gear didn't misbehave and after the work i've done in the faulty segments, check the samples provided. And apparently, 10c isn't releasing any official recordings of this tour, so this one may be worthwhile grabbing after all. |
