J-Card Comment:

It always breaks my heart when you do a Hendrix post and note that everybody is
dead. This is a recording my Hendrix co-conspirator Bob found when we lived in
the Washington, DC area circa the late 70's - early 80's. The few Hendrix people
I'm still in contact with consider it to be the best sounding version to date, so I
would have to assume it's a low generation dub. If you have one that's better,
don't bitch about mine, but post yours for everybody to enjoy.

For a 1968 recording of a very loud band, this is very listenable. The vocals are
weak at first, but improve towards the end of "Foxy Lady". The tape flip occurs
at the end of "Purple Haze" when Jimi is playing the outro with his teeth, so most
of it is there. The taper generally stopped the tape in between songs to obviously
conserve tape. Enjoy!
