J-Card Comment: | This is a second generation tape source for The Doors' 1968 show in Houston. Like the Dallas '68 show, I had to balance the channels on this source to bring them more to the center and did some ClickRepair to remove a lot of clicks and pops in the right channel. I also EQ'd the recording to bring down the bass and punch up the vocals and did some speed-correction. Unfortunately, the result was very hissy. While I tend to prefer stereo recordings, I found that if I copied over the left channel, I didn't lose too much sound and the tape hiss was dramatically reduced. So I'm including both the stereo and mono versions I made so that people can either download whichever one they prefer or download both. In any case, if you trade this material, please note whether it's the original stereo transfer or the mono mix. There is a brief cut during "When The Music's Over." "Who Do You Love" and "Light My Fire" are also cut. |
