J-Card Comment: | Two low gen sources for The Doors' performance at the Long Beach Sports Arena on February 7, 1970. After perfoming 4 concerts over 2 days at the Felt Forum in New York City in the middle of January and shows at the Winterland Arena the previous two nights, Jim Morrison's voice is noticeably hoarse during this performance in Long Beach. Still, it doesn't keep him or the band from delivering a dynamic performance. This concert is one of my favorites and possibly the longest Doors concert ever performed. Unfortunately, no complete tape exists/has surfaced. Only two sources are known and they are both presented here in the best sound quality currently available -- namely 1st and 2nd generation copies. |
