J-Card Comment:

This concert was held in front of 8,000 people in one of the smallest venues of the whole Zoo TV tour. Since it was only three days before the infamous Stockholm gig, the songs sound very much the same. However, unlike in Stockholm Bono didn't talk much in between the tracks, which is good if you just want to hear the music and don't care much for his ramblings. It's definitely an excellent audience recording, it could even be from a soundboard source. During the first two or three songs the sound level varies a bit on a few occassions, but it's only a minor nuisance.
The disc starts with the "I could have lost you" bit after which "Zoo Station" kicks in full-force. Before "One" Bono says something in Swedish (?) and thanks the audience for hanging around for 5 years. "Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses" was only played during the spring leg of the Zoo TV Tour (and afterwards on a few more dates in America) and this version sounds very good. It must have been rather hot inside the venue because Bono inquires after why's there's no air-conditioning. He then introduces "Tryin' To Throw Your Arms Around The World" as an old Swedish drinking song. It's one of the evening's highlights. As always a girl comes onstage to drink champagne with Bono. He asks her to sit down and improvises with lines from "Every Little Thing's Gonna Be Alright". "Dancing Queen" is linked to "Angel Of Harlem". While the audience keeps singing "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For", the band start playing "Stand By Me". Bono thanks the crowd and calls it quits, leaving The Edge on vocals for the rest of the song.
Unfortunately this bootleg does not contain the whole concert, but five other tracks can be found on THE PARTY STILL GOES ON (97/08/02 Gothenburg). In fact, if you combine these two bootlegs, only "Desire", "With Or Without You" and "Love Is Blindness" are absent.
This is the original pressing on this label.
