J-Card Comment: | JEMS master recording. At The time this was a huge deal for Who fans. Besides the one off reunited performance of The Who in 1985 for Live Aid, this was the first time Pete billed as Pete Townshend and The Deep end was playing live since 1982 and as such warranted a trip across the pond from the states to witness firsthand and tape. This was the 1st of 2 nights at the Brixton Academy with the 2nd night being recorded officially with only part of the show being officially released as on video and audio along with being broadcast on MTV. Nothing from the 1st night as far as we know has been officially released in any form. The show feature a nice cross section of Who, solo, covers and material Pete was working on for other people at the time like songs off of David Gilmour's current(at that time) solo album. |
