J-Card Comment:

Originally sourced from JEMS' master, I had hoped this would be more flawless than it turned out to be. Some variations were introduced in the transfer to my cassette, I think -- recording levels fluctuated, and some differences in the mastering (i.e. more high end in some places, more lows in others) came into play because of the record deck. I remastered and de-hissed each portion of the show (Tape 1 side A, tape 1 side B, tape 2) separately in order to try to restore consistent fidelity throughout. I think the show flows more smoothly now.

That said, it's a nice recording, as are most JEMS recordings of the Who. The sound quality should surpass the majority of what most collectors have from this tour; I'd give it an 8/10 overall. The only reason I'm not more enthuasiastic is just that I'm not that much of a fan of the '82 tour (a.k.a. the "First Farewell Tour") -- however, the performance is pretty good given the era.

There are a couple brief cuts in the master during the first three songs. Noticeable, but they shouldn't disrupt one's enjoyment too much.
