DVD 330; lineage: DPA 4061 (Core Sound HEB) > Edirol R-09 mic in, 6th row left center, levels boosted in audacity via amplify function - songs increased 6-10dB, tracked with cdwave, TLH for the rest

J-Card Comment:

I was sitting 6th row in the left center section. So the PA was quite a bit to my left and a little elevated (but not hung) with only a small filler cabinet on the stage, level with the orchestra seating, and a small filler cabinet center stage pointed toward center. In addition, it was an extremely quiet show. I had the gain set at max on the edirol and was still only getting -30 to -20 levels during songs. As a result, you can hear every noise from my neighbors - even the women next to me getting pieces of gum and tissues. Thankfully most of the noise is between song clapping, with the periodic laugh or chatter. Despite the low levels, etc., I think the DPAs did a really nice job of capturing the sound of the show from my location; it definitely has a you are there vibe and sounds particularly good over headphones.

In editing the recording, because it was so quiet, I decided to boost the levels of each song from 6-10 dB in audacity rather than trying to decrease the levels of the audience. I tried to pick spots where it was quiet and so the level change wouldn't be too noticeable, but that wasn't always possible.
So you will notice abrupt volume increases or reductions in a few spots, mostly at the end of songs.
I didn't do fades for cd breaks, but the suggested break comes at a good spot, I think.

The set list varied quite a bit from the Philly and Alexandria , VA shows posted here. Enjoy!!
