J-Card Comment:

This one has it's share of problems - distance, crowd noise, distortion but listenable I think. The quieter portions sound better.
There is a cut in the middle of Police & Thieves (tape flip?) I happened to be in Rome at the time and found out about this free show in honor of some Italian communist.
Listening to his remarks it doesn't sound like Joe knows what its about either.
Stadio Flaminio was like a giant permanent tent 5,000 people plus? I was seventeen and pushed my way front row center. I remember some guy sitting on the steps
next to security basically a foot from the stage with a large boom box recording the show. This ain't that recording as you can hear the tapers occasionally.
Joe gets a kick addressing the crowd "People of Rome..." I think this was only time he ever played there. I was told the Vatican kept a tight reign on these sort of events
and no doubt because people would get a little crazy destructive & problematic generally.
