Taper's notes:
I had a great deal of anticipation built up for this show, especially since tickets went on sale way back in March. At that time, it was surprising to
me that AFP booked the Hollywood Bowl, but once inside, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the show sold a lot more seats than I had imagined. It
was still obviously undersold, but the crowd was very appreciative and the band put on an exceptional performance. Plus it was the birthdays of both
Flea and Mauro, so everyone seemed in high spirits. The only minor complaints I have about this particular HB show are its brevity (it didn't even work
out to $1 per minute based on a 91 minute show) and the merch prices (recycled plastic or not, I've never paid so much for a tour shirt in my life...no
one was bending my arm, I know). Despite that, it's always a lot of fun to see Thom so happy and in a skirt.

Thom's mic was not turned on in time at the beginning of "AIRAN," so that's why his vocal came in late. Then he came into too early on the second verse
of the same song, but he managed to kind of save it. And then he forgot the words to the first verse of "AFP" and had to run over to Nigel to get a
reminder.

The show ended with the premiere of the "BYVE" video being show on the side screens. It actually cut in late and I assume that is why they stopped and
restarted the video. I faded the recording out at the groan of the crowd when the video was stopped. And I have included photos of the title cards shown
before the video just for the sake of it. On a related photo note, I apologize for the various heads in the shots of the other pics, but it was really
hard to get a clear shot from where I was standing.

As for the audience, it was like a typical HB crowd judging by how people lacked any kind of civility. To begin with, there was a drunk dude in the
section to my right. He was already pretty far gone after James Holden's opening set, so he was a lot of fun during AFP. My seatmate (i.e. blocker)
took off when AFP began so she could get an unobstructed view to film, so the drunk and his woman slowly started to creep across the aisle and into the
empty seat next to me. For the most part, the two of them just made out in the aisle, but he is heard wooping once or twice during some of the songs.
His loudest woop is during "RIYH."

Actually, what was worse than the drunk was the group in front of me. Initially, there was a man and a woman who were relatively quiet. But by "The
Clock," their two female friends arrived and instead of the two new girls sitting together, they bookended the couple. Now that the girls were so far
apart, they had to talk-scream to one another behind the backs of the couple, which meant I had to hear their jabbering and witness their constant
distractions of trying to get one another's attention. They are heard from "The Clock" through "AIRAN" and in "Cymbal Rush." Then one of the girls left
at the first encore, but it got worse by "Paperbag Writer" when she returned from her sojourn, had found a male friend in another section and brought him
with her. The two of them talk for a little bit in "Paperback Writer" and "Amok." Their loudest conversation is during the second encore after they
shifted into the aisle to my right and eventually next to me. The two of them--especially her--wouldn't shut up through most of "AFP" and a part of
"Black Swan."

Besides all that, the man to my left screamed at the beginning of "BYVE" and talked to his friend, but then they were quiet after that first song.
There is some light phasing in "Default" and there are light claps in "BYVE," "Unless," "FPABH" and "Amok" (these might sound like pops, but they're
just one person clapping off and on), plus heavier clapping in "HH," "Dropped" and "Cymbal Rush."

This recording is right channel heavy due to the fact that all the sound came off of the large monitors/speakers that were placed on the sides of the
stage. And my seat was to the left of those speakers. I tried to balance out the left channel as best as I could.

I amplified this, but did nothing else to the recording. And if burning to cd, the suggested split is between "Cymbal Rush" and "FPABH."
