J-Card Comment:

For those who are not aware of Luka Bloom his given name at birth was Kevin Barry Moore and he has an older brother named Christy who is fairly popular. He took the name Luka from the Suzanne Vega song and Blooom from the Dubliner Bloom in James Joyces novel "Ulysses".
This was a stop on one of Lukas's infrequent UK tours. Sadly he is not appreciated anyway near as much as he should be on home shores (IMO). He seems to do a lot better in Northern Europe, Australia and the States. From friends I gather that some of the venues he played were poorly attended which is a great shame as he is a superbly engaging artist. This show was not sold out by any means but it didn' stop a superb performance.
In 2011 he was asked to open and close for the Dalai Lama which must be something that few people are asked to do. This was after the Dalai Lama had heard Luka's song " As I Waved Goodbye". Ironically the following week I saw older brother Christy (& Declan) playing to a sold out 1500 seater venue at about £30+ per ticket which was probably twice the cost of this show.
There is a bit of a commenter sitting to my left but he restricts his commentaries to the intervals and doesn't detract from the show at all. Great crowd, great show. I have split the intros, which are sometimes musically accompanied from the actual songs as best I was able. Yopu may wish to alter your own copies. It was difficult to decide sometimes where the intro ended and the song started. Some of the intros are lengthy but still quite entertaining.
