J-Card Comment:

A good stereo audience recording with some flaws.
Pitch of the tape appears to be more or less in tune thus requiring no adjustment.
Remastered by boosting overall level, applying some specific EQ compression
and compensating for some manual recording level adjustments that occurred
during the transfer process or during the recording process.
here is virtually no dialogue with the audience, nor is there any applause captured on this recording, which is rare.
1700 has some strange digital clicking noises which have likely
been inadvertently added to the disc during a cassette transfer or some
analogue to digital transfer process.
In various quieter sections of all 3 pieces, some strange noises which resemble bad de-noising artifacts occur. Upon close inspection however these appear to have somehow infiltrated the Frippertronics loop itself at the event as it ceases when the loop is stopped by Fripp. Perhaps an anomaly of this particular Revox setup in Amsterdam. Camera shutters can be heard nearby the taper during 1700.
This may have been the sound of the photos taken by professional photographer Joep Bruinje which have later surfaced on the album Let the Power Fall and various music publications. The original recording received prior to remastering had 5 tracks, but upon close inspection Tracks 1 & 2 there was no actual break in the loop, nor was there a break between Tracks 4 & 5. These have been re-indexed together as 1700 and 1698 respectively.
