J-Card Comment:

Rare COMPLETE show (incl. the two last, commonly missing numbers "Layla" & and "Further Up On The Road") and *by far* the best sounding versions I know of ñ uncirculated as such! Find my (hopefully) confirming samples in the comments section.
(Simple) pdf cover artwork included in torrent.

Contrast clause RE:
1. Different from my torrent #506322 (still on tracker): EricBT pointed out on Jan. 18, 2015 that he had detected at least one digi glitch/skip on CD 1 at 6:06 into track 6 ("Early in the Morning"), and another at 6:17 (which I myself could not detect, though). This torrent here has CD 1/source #1 redone & repaired, i.e. I did a new transfer from original cassette tape. NB, new this time: no CD-R copy between tape transfer and torrent. I of course played and checked CD 2 for skips, too and it runs OK so I could recycle it for this re-upload. Both cover artwork and info file corrected & adjusted accordingly with new lineage info, new run time for CD 1 and a track list error amended.

Different from and FAR SUPERIOR to all hitherto torrented versions on Dime (or elsewhere in torrentland) such as:
2. #468879 (still on the tracker)
3. #249380 and #147743 (both long dropped off the tracker)
Öand all other commonly circulating bootlegged or un-bootlegged versions.

Addional info: source #1 does come w/out "Double Trouble" though it was really played between "Crossroads" and "Setting Me Up", and my 2nd, complete source has this number placed after "Watch Out for Lucy". I seems someone up the gen. line edited out this track from its orig. position and spliced it in again as the 10th track. No idea why, though.

CD 1 - source #1 (best source)
1 Badge
2 If I Don't Be There By Morning
3 Worried Life Blues
4 Tulsa Time
5 Motherless Children
6 Early in the Morning
7 Crossroads
8 Setting Me Up
9 Watch Out For Lucy
Total Time: 59:11 min.

CD 2 - source #2 (2nd best source)
1 Double Trouble
2 Lay Down Sally
3 Wonderful Tonight
4 Cocaine (tape flip fixed)
5 Layla
6 Further On Up the Road
Total Time: 50:37 min.

My original comment & info:
Gem time, Claptonatix!
Hereís another of my favourite and not-so-common shows Iíd like to share with you. This torrent consists of two different analog cassette sources: CD #1 is the best source I've ever come across so far, but it is incomplete unfortunately as it consists of only the first nine tracks of the show. For CD #2, I used the remaining numbers of this show from a second, slightly inferior but complete source. I received both sources sometime in the late 80ís/early 90's in analog cassette trades/swaps, and have enjoyed especially the first immensely ever since due to its far above average sound quality (for its time) and some of its - IMHO - outstanding tracks. Since it has of course always bugged me BIG TIME that this recording contains only about the first hour of the c. 110 min. show, Iíve tried numerous times to upgrade it (i.e. find a complete recording of the same quality) to absolutely no avail. My 2nd cassette source from another trade from about the same time period came at least with the *entire* show and that is another bonus for you as all other commonly circulating versions are incomplete (i.e. have ìLaylaî and FurtherÖî missing). All CD bootlegs Iíve come across, such as ìClevelandî on EC Rarities, ìNo Longer Requiredî or whatever release you choose, are clearly from higher and lesser gen. copies (incl. the version of ìLucyî on the excellent early 90ís ìFurther Up the Crossroadsî box collection). Once I even received a version that my source claimed was from a WMMB pre-FM reel, but that sounds just about as mediocre as all other versions (and is an audience recording, anyway). OK, I know Iím bold RE the sound quality and I hope I donít exaggerate, and my upload wonít disappoint you. Just please donít whip me if Iím too enthusiastic about this show, OK? :)

I donít know the exact lineage of my cassette copies but #1 must be *very* close to the master; thereís not much hiss, and when I did the cassette-to-CDR transfer, I made sure it runs at pretty much the correct speed (much in contrast to some boot CDs). I initially even thought it may be a somewhat ambience-heavy board recording but I meanwhile am a bit more sure it is not ñ though I might still be proven wrong one sunny day. The only complaint one may have about this is that it originally came with a few channel drop-outs during ìBadgeî so I had to split the good (right, IIRC) channel and monoíed this number, but I imagine you wonít hear much of that; the rest of the recording has both channels intact. The 2nd source sounds as though it stems from the same master recording and it just a higher gen. copy; there was a tape flip in "Cocaine" which I could fix nicely with Audacity. I do like this show as it comes with quite a few good numbers that didnít appear on ìJust One Nightî recorded almost exactly half a year later and therefore complements that official release nicely as a documentation of Eís 1979 tours: We get my all-time EC fave, ìBadgeî (and a real nice version is this, to boot) which would be dropped in November 1979 for three years, ìMotherless Childrenî, a cool, slow ìCrossroadsî and especially ìWatch Out For Lucyî ñ a PASSIONATE (yep, thatís capital letters!) version that alone is worth the admission and your ratio investment, believe me! This beast easily blows the lullaby studio version on ìBacklessî out of the water (hands down!), and it is beyond me why Big E never felt like playing it again after this short mid-1979 tour - let alone releasing it. SighÖ At least, I can share this number and the whole show with you here - and the joy Iíve had with it for so long. :)

If anybody here on Planet Dime happens to have a complete recording of the same (or even superior?) quality as the first source - pretty, pretty please find it in your heart and up it ASAP, OK? TNX a big lot in advance.

And yet again, my Personal Pillorying Pleasure and ceterum censeo: Screw you Sh*tyoda F*ckords, this show is NOT MEANT FOR SALE. I know you give a sh*t but I take my freedom to tell you what I think of you (and likeminded crookleggers).

Please do NOT spread this show in lossy formats - otherwise: enjoy, trade, share!
