| Notes: | Recording Information ::: unknown mono recorder, unknown microphone -> master mono tape (reel?) -> DW's 1st generation Sony C-90 Plus 2 normal bias 92 minute cassette (transfer circa 1977), no noise reduction. Playback 2013-03-19 ::: 1st generation Sony C-90 Plus 2 normal bias 92 minute cassette on Nakamichi 680ZX cassette deck, no noise reduction, azimuth & speed adjusted (pitched!) for individual recording, heads cleaned & demagnetized -> Sony Linear PCM Recorder PCM-M10 (LPCM 44.10kHz/16bit WAV files) -> computer -> Audacity (normalisation to remove DC offset, channel/phase alignment, fades, manual one-at-a-time glitch / dropout / bump / pop / click / dullspot repairs & clap reduction, volume adjustments, further speed fixes if necessary, NO equalisation) -> CD Wave (track splits) -> Trader's Little Helper -> yer ears. First uploaded week of 2013-03-30. Suffereing fear of bloat, With great reluctance, I decided to repair everything & use the left channel only. While this limits further fixes, the audio quality is steadier & almost every tape aging artifact is removed from the listening experience. I did a complete run through after I finished to be sure I was happy with the results & I think it is exquisite. | |||||
