Notes:

This show was Jason Mraz and Toca Rivera in-studio.

Shanna Shwartz was actually the first person to put jason mraz on the radio. 92.1FM had jason on their show after he had done his KCR appearances... and the rest as they say, is history..

here is some info from Shanna about what the radio show was all about and those early mraz days:

"I'm a little hazy on the KCR situation. I believe he came in a total of 4 times. I thought the tape I gave you was the second time he came in but I guess it was the third. He made 2 appearances with Toca. The first time was before he got married, but if he mentioned his wife on the tape, that must've been the second time with Toca(3rd time total).
The tape must've been February 2001... I know I wasn't talking much-but you try and get a word in between Jason & Toca when they're "on"... impossible!
Someone in his family e-mailed for "boil them cabbages" & I think it was a song that his grandma would sing. Just sort of a fun family thing.
As for "how" I got him to come on my show... well that was 3 years ago... he wasn't even selling out Java Joes at that time. Honestly-the packed Java Joe days didn't start until 8-10 months later. Before then time, you could still see him, and it was iffy how many would show up.  Plus we were actually friends at that time... it was sort of mutually helping out. He played on my show, & I didn't have to come up with a play list!
The show was called "the local show". It was every Saturday from 10am-noon. He came in for the second hour the last 3 times because he couldn't wake up earlier than that!
I did the show my senior year at SDSU. So from Fall 2000-Spring 2001. Just a little fun fact-he played on my very last radio show. i've always been bummed I didn't tape it. It was just the two of us that time & none of our friends came. So basically I got my very own show-It was my own personal request hour. {I think he closed with "galaxy"... a very quiet, acoustic version-it was so good I wish it were on tape.} He would say cheeky things just to embarrass me & we got my uncle to call in. So Jason answered the phone on the air & had a conversation with my uncle.
If some of what I said seems off based on what the tape says-well it was awhile ago & my exact dateline is a little fuzzy!
