01/04/2003 | Doug Nawrocki | I don't think that it really matters if the last track on a disc has a SBE.
01/05/2003 | Joe Jupille | It does if that track is in the middle of a set (as Terrapin presumably is here). When media long enough to hold the whole set become widely available there will be a SBE in the middle of the set.

Its not clear now that sector boundaries will have any bearance on future media formats (e.g. DVD) - SBE's are for now an arbitrary byproduct of the redbook cdr audio format. still SBE's are a minor annoyance and are easily avoided with a little extra work on the seeder's part. however, fixing end of disc SBE's in an inappropriate manner (by disc instead of set) results in the addition of a subsecond bit of silence, and results in a manufactured pop - fixer beware you may create a couple of spindles of coasters in your attempt to do good. also, its opening up a can of worms cuz i'd guess that almost half the pre2001 etree gd seeds have sector boundary errors in them at the end of discs ;o |
