Fan appreciation night, whatever that means. This is the show that really made me had Boulder and the Fox. I went by myself, which was a mistake. I got to the Fox early as hell and the show was sold out. I now get tickets online henceforth because of this. So I met every person in BOulder this night because I asked everyone at every bar in Boulder if they had an extra. I mean I bullshitted with every person in this town. Everyone was surprisingly cordial, though. But no one had an extra. Meanwhile, in the process of hitting all these bars looking for a ticket, I'm getting absolutely wasted. Some guy working the gate at the Fox 5 minutes before showtime hooks me up with a tichet for face at $12. i love that guy. But by now I am trashed. I don't really remember much about the show except this one fucker. I'm smoking a cigarette, which you're not supposed to do in Boulder even in your house. But I'm making sure securety doesn't see. But this douche standing next to smoking a fucking bowl says in his best wookie-brah dialect, "Get that cigarette out of my face braaaah!" I'm like, "What the fuck?" I like weed as much as the next guy, but if you honestly believe that weed is somehow less harmful to your lungs than a cigarette is, you've obviously smoked too much weed. I mean, have you ever cleaned out a bowl. That shit has got more tar than a paved road! That is when I realized that the people of Boulder are the stupedest motherfuckers on the planet. So I left shortly after this because I could barely stand up and drove home. That was the dumbest thing I had ever done. It's like 40 miles back to Lakewood on very dark hwy with curves that sneak up on you in an effort to break up the monotony of the drive. To this day, I don't see how I made it back. I checked the setlist the next day and saw that they played Helicopters right after I left. The only song I really wanted to hear because I hadn't heard one in so long. Oh well, I basically traded a Helicopters for my life. If I'd have stayed, I don't think I would have made it. Anyway, I finally got to listen to this show the other day and catch up on what I was to wasted to realize was actually a great show as far as 03 Bisco goes. The sound on the discs is impeccable, too. The vocals are even really clear. I do recommend this one. Wasn't as good as what was to come for the rest of the tour, but it was a shit ton better than Breck. Breck sucked. That is the only Bisco show I've attended in which I can utter the word SUCKED. |
