J Hudson This was the show Derek played that prevented him from joining the rest of the gang up in NYC for "One For Woody". This was the first time I had seen Javier Colon perform with the band and I thought he was a horrible fit from the start. I found his voice to be very reedy and the presence of a vocalist kept the number of instrumentals during the show to a minimum. There was no opener this night and DTB's set was less than 95 minutes. The highlight of the night was when local street sax player "Bobby Sax" tore it up on "Ain't That Lovin' You". Not only was I still mourning Allen Woody at this time, but it seemed that one of my favorite bands had really made a personnel decision that took them several steps backward in their growth.
